Requirements of the German ‘Mittelstand’ in outsourcing provider selection

On behalf of Wipro, PAC recently conducted an analysis on the German mid-market and Wipro Technologies’ role in this market. The mid-market is considered as the ‘backbone’ of the German economy, in terms of revenues, employment, etc. Especially in the manufacturing sector, there are many ‘hidden champions’ that are positioned as market leaders in their business segments – often at a [...]

What end users expect in an outsourcing proposal

Service providers often ask us, “What do end users really expect when receiving outsourcing proposals?” Most of the possible answers to that question seem to be obvious, but in fact only seem so as end users still complain about the quality of the proposals they receive. We might expect willingness to pay to completely disappear in the highly competitive and [...]

Global economic pressures conditions have given rise to increased competitive and regulatory pressures on businesses. Decision making times have shrunk and time to market has shortened for most. There is nothing extraordinary about this fact per se but the reason given is worth having a closer look at: “This reflects [...]

Norwich Council: the Turkey that Voted for Christmas

The £120m savings target trumpeted on the launch of UK Government’s G-Cloud has dominated public sector IT headlines recently. In contrast, the £1.5m savings that Norwich City Council aims to achieve through an agreement with local government shared services vehicle LGSS looks like very small beans indeed. But PAC reckons the move is equally groundbreaking in its own way. LGSS [...]

Colt Holds the Line

News today of Colt’s 2011 results show the company holding the line with a slight decline in revenues but a tiny uptick in profits. The underlying story is more complex. Managed Services grew 7.9%, in very close alignment with the market. Voice declined by 7.7% and data by half a point. Here’s the challenge. The Managed Services part of the [...]
